You may not yet know (but now you do) that Milwaukee is participating in the 2013 Compassion Games, not really a “competition” per se, but a “co-opetition” among cities to highlight the great and caring work that is often unnoticed or not acknowledged. Milwaukee is known for a lot of things – let’s make our Compassion one of them! To that end, it would be wonderful if you and/or your organization play with us and, at the same time, get recognized for your goodness by sharing:
I know you don’t need ONE MORE THING to do, but it would be great to highlight what you are already doing in this special way with 3 simple steps:
First – you can start right now featuring the events or activities that you/your organization might be hosting between Sept 11 – 21 on the Compassionate Milwaukee website: http://www.compassionatemilwaukee.org/Milwaukee-Compassion-Games.html
You will see some games that individuals and organizations have already submitted. You can submit your game at the bottom. This is a great way for people to get connected to what is going on. Think of the things you are doing within those 10 days that have compassion at the center of that choice – be they personal or communal. They don’t need to be big – they just need to be YOU living out your mission!
Second – mark your calendars for Sept 11 – 21. We are asking everyone to post their Compassion Games (Stories of Compassion, Service Projects, or Acts of Compassion) to the Compassion Games Site: https://compassiongames.crowdmap.com/reports/submit. This will help get Milwaukee on the map – literally a crowd map. Check it out. Remember every time you submit a report to select “Milwaukee” as the community.
Third – tell 2 (or more) people you know about this project or forward this message. Compassionate Milwaukee is a grassroots movement that is working to highlight the great works of Compassion within our city. The more we highlight the good news, the more good news we will experience.
Let’s have coffee (or email back and forth) if you have any questions about the project or what you can do. I hope you will share your heart and mind and support the Compassionate Milwaukee Campaign! Please forward and share with any fellow "compassionists" and spread the word!
